Coverage Options
Understanding your coverage options helps you build a policy that protects what matters — without paying for what you don't need.
Liability Insurance
Every vehicle on a multi-car policy must carry at least your state's minimum liability limits. Bodily-injury minimums range from $15,000 to $50,000 per person across states; property-damage minimums range from $5,000 to $50,000.
Full Coverage Car Insurance
Liability plus collision and comprehensive on a single vehicle. On a multi-car policy, you can put full coverage on financed or leased cars and liability only on owned vehicles — each car's coverage level is independent.
Uninsured Motorist Coverage
Pays when an at-fault driver has no insurance or insufficient limits. Required in 22 states. On a multi-car policy, uninsured-motorist coverage applies per vehicle and must meet state minimums where mandated.
Multi-Car Policy Structure
Two or more vehicles on one policy, each with its own coverage level, earning the multi-car discount. The discount typically requires the same garaging address and all vehicles listed on the same policy effective date.
